Caller Sought in Shooting That Left 5 Homeless Dead

LOS ANGELES With no suspects identified and a crime scene washed by rains, police were hoping the anonymous caller who sent them to a homeless encampment where five people were shot to death would come forward and say more.
The bodies of three men and two women were found Sunday in the space between commercial buildings and Interstate 405 in Long Beach, police said.
An anonymous call from a pay phone at about 8:30 a.m. had directed police to the scene.

probably a gang initiation.. Some have to kill in order to get in.. Homeless is usually who they go after..

LONG BEACH, California - The crime scene, alongside a busy freeway off-ramp, was shielded from view by dense brush and tangled tree limbs.
The victims five people shot to death over the weekend at a spot inhabited by the homeless were known largely by their nicknames or just their first names.
