Yes we have all been there the ritual stand in line at the fuel desk with the comdata card in hand wait and pray it goes through the system the first time or even the clerk has half a brain to make it work without gettin the manager when its all said and done you have pissed the better part of an hour away just to buy fuel and the half hour was provided ya got luck and did not have to wait behind 2-3 rigs ta pull up at the pump

but how about this we have i-passes 4 tolls pre-pass for scales how about fuel pass

it work like this put a transponder on the bumper or windshield it scans and then pump your fuel and grab the receipt the company gets billed monthly and if they are deadbeats n do not pay the bills well thats simple they wont turn on the pump then and you would pay cash upfront in that case

i understand there are some scematics to tweak out bfore this idea would be practical maybee a pin code n such to prevent fraud

but just think of it pull up and pump wouldnt that be gr8

I think you'd end of havin a problem with stealin it, or the thing allowin someone else to fuel off yours as you leave if it scans again etc........Ive never had that much problem. I usually use the card locks here in Canada where there aint an attendent anywhere an you just scan your card yourself an put in the pin

Well as i mentioned the pin code idea to activate you would punch a pin code to access qand after ya fuel your rig and hang up the nozzle the lever falls back and automatically shuts the pumps off and prints the receipt so the system would have to be re=activated to pump again plus there are cameras everywhere anyhow so those that find a way to cheat will be caught anyhow n go to jail

Pilot already has a system at the pump. The company I drive for does not require a receipt. We only note the fuel cost, gallons and city on trip sheet. There is no need to go inside.

I use cardreaders at the pump but still have to go inside to sign the receipt.

Yep, it bugs the hell out of me getting fuel in the U.S. and having to go in for a receipt. It would save everyone time if they would just print out the receipts at the pump like up here. I guess they just want to get you inside so you will hopefully buy something else.

At least you're thinking. They could use the same system we use for gasoline stations. When I would load my truck I would first insert my card into a card reader and that card reader would verify my CDL, med card, truck reg, trailer reg, tank certs, $2m bond, co insurance, and if the dealer had the money in the bank to pay for the load. As soon as I pulled the card my BOL would print and the money would be tranfered into our account. Now if they could do all that then a company could easily be set up to pay for fuel.

I agree, I hate going to a busy place to buy fuel in the U.S. and having to wait in line for 20 mins just to get a receipt, I am surprised they don't have a similar system to our cardlocks uphere, it is so much easier. Not a new idea up here in Canada, we've been doing it for years.

It may depend on your carrier.

I used Comdata card and NEVER needed a receipt. Pulled up to pump, fueled, left.

Well, then I'd usually park in the lot somewhere and go inside for a visit to the porcelain museum and maybe Transflow if I was at a Pilot.
