So what happens if you run out of hours before you get back to the DC on your go home day? They always make it tight. Last week I made it back with only 5 min on my 14

You get another layover. If I think a dispatch is tight on my go home day I let them know I may not make it back in. Most of the time they will put me on something that isn't as tight.
-
i guess someone will have to come get yougeorgear1084 and Triumph 1 Thank this.

If you run out of time on your 70. You get payed 14 an hour. If you are close they will come get you. But if not you will have to do a reset on the road. It is been very aggravating here lately on the east coast getting home on my go home day also. I told the gtm that if my 70 runs out on the road I will not sit in that truck for 34 hrs. They can come get there truck.

You either break early and get another layover, or you call as soon as they dispatch you and say you can't do that, it's too tight.slim6596 Thanks this.

My split seater that follows me won't be very happy.

That's why they usually work with you if you call them and let them know. It's less work to switch your load than to deal with a fussy driver who has to slip seat for a day on a turn run before he can get back to his own truck. I've never had to reset my 70 on road. I don't care about the extra layover, but more often than not they make sure I get in. Your office may do it differently though.
