Fedex freight. All trucks after 2010 have autos. Most common trucks youll see at fxf. Trucks equipped with isx15 cummins have 10 speed auto (direct drive with 2.53 rear prior to 2015 and post 2015 have small step overdrive with 2.67)Volvos btwn 2011 to 2014 had i shift cause of volvo engine. Trucks older than 2010 have 10 speed direct, most of them are now as spare or assigned on the xtra board.

new ones are 10 speed, but they are ultrashit with those small step overdrive, 2.67 rear end (single axle), does pointless shifting, no power after 1300 rpm, cant drive 65 at 1475 rpm in manual mode because they disabled manual mode (only works max at 53 mph in 9th gear), and they run worser than pre 2015 trucks with direct drive (that are equipped with both standard and auto tranny)

those are dangerous going up or down a grade.

automatics are complete trash and UNSAFE to drive in the mountains and going up and down grades.

Not true, if you know what you're doing. It may depend on the transmission to, though.

I used to work for FedEx Freight, still have many friends there. The automatics are frowned upon by those I know that drive them, they lack the power to pull on grades.

I'm currently driving a Cascadia with the DD13/DT12 setup. I have no problem controlling my truck on down grades, you just have to know how to handle the tranny and engine brake.

Newer ones (kw, pete, prostars, some freightliners, volvos) after 2015, they have isx15 (now x15 starting with 2017 models) with 10 ultrashift small step overdrive, and 2.67 rear end (single axle) or 2.64 (tandem). Pre 2015 trucks had 10 speed direct auto, they had some powers going uphill but they only have 1550 torque. But I would prefer with pre 2010 kenworths with 10 speed direct standard because they had 1750 torque on 9th and 10th gear.

Currently assigned to 2015 built volvo has factory setup on it which fedex freight hasnt touched the engine/auto programming yet. Pulls better on hills than any other truck at fedex freight that is newer than 2015 (their progamming ####ed up by fedex freight)
