@CMosh35 Yep, I'm sure I'm not corporate. Just a trainee going through the GYCDL program, and looking to help perspective and future students understand what it's like.
@Rocknroller4 You're supposed to have a room mate.bigred81 Thanks this. -
Roehl is telling me that I have to go to Gary Indiana.But I do not won't to do flatbed. Is the Gary Indiana terminal only for flatbeds.
-
I know that Gary is where the flatbed division goes for securement training and where flatbed GYCDL students go. I don't know if Gary trains for other divisions.
-
Thanks but I'm not really trying to do flatbed!!! Is there anyway I can get out of that?
-
Best thing to do is talk to your recruiter. If you're set on going to Roehl and you can't start by training for the division you eant, you might be able to train for flatbed, then talk to your fleet manager about transfering to dry van or reefer. It's not guaranteed, though.

Thank you for the feedback. I have my phone interview on Thursday.So I'm going to talk to them about that situation on Thursday.

Just figured I'd post a quick update.
I had to take my CDL test twice. The first time was on July 28th. I blew the pre trip away and moved on to the backing skills test. Made the straight line and offset no problem, but wound up failing on the parallel park. Fortunately, Roehl was willing to do some retraining and sending me to take the test again.
I went to a different test site on August 4th after a day of extra practice. I passed with flying colors.
I just wrapped up my 1st week of phase 2 (OTR) training and am waiting in Appleton, WI for my 2nd trainer (my first is on the 7/7 fleet).
So far, everything is going well with my training except for having to switch trainers and wait. On a positive note about waiting, I was almost out of hours on my 70 so I'll be starting with a fresh 70 when I meet my new trainer on Monday. -
How did this end? Any current updates?
-
I'm still in phase 2. I just got my day started, so I'll do an update later this evening.
