You are correct that CPM is the key factor. However, the formula for income is CPM x Miles. Running that dedicated route meant a steady 5500-6500 miles per week. Running solo I averaged about 2500 miles per week, with some gawdaful weeks due to the luck of the draw and the occasional 3000+ mile per week due to the luck of the draw.

So, would you rather make 1/2 of your CPM for 6000 miles on a steady diet, or your full CPM for an average 2500 miles with wild variance? I made more running on dedicated team than solo.

By the way, ######## is valuable. Think fertilizer.

 

I run team it takes getting use to. We have our off days, but most of the time we get along pretty well. Pay ? Well we started here 24th of January. We should hit 70k or better by years end. I'm not saying I am crazy about the idea of running teams. But with this company it is the best money I have ever made. And I truly love My job. Haven't said that in years.

 

That's about what I make bopping around in a day cab M-F. The days are long sometimes but at least I get to go home and not sleep in a moving truck. I would want $100k+ to even entertain that. I've slept in a moving truck and then had to get up and run exactly once and it was the worst.
