My gf is wanting to go from a regular license to CDL A, I've got 1.5 years OTR bout 3 months flatbed and the rest van. She only wants to be trained in the truck with me and not have to deal with the other bs that gives only state basics to pass the exams. She can ride and learn while studying for the learners permit, but once she gets that I know it complicates things with the riders policy at my current company. I was wondering what company I need to check into about me training her to do her actual driving tests and start teaming after I get her driving the right way (so I feel safe going to sleep). I know prime is bout the only one I can think of that would allow this, was wondering on their requirements to do so and possibly some other companies that do. If there is already a thread on this exact subject a link would greatly be appreciated, my search query seems to bring up the wrong info I'm seeking. Thanks, and keep the rubber side down.
My gf wants to get her CDL and only wants to deal with me.

I think all or most will let you train your lady but there might be a 90 day grace period before u can do so and you'll also need to go thru a trainer/trainee course.
Ayoungin205 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the response, I figured I wasn't going to just be able to call a company up and bring her to orientation to start training. We both know this could take some time to get it setup right.

Where is your location?
Titan Transfer has their own cdl school in Tennessee with small classes. You can probably be her trainer after she finishes the classroom portion. Trucks run 70 mph and they use teams or solo drivers.Ayoungin205 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the chime in Chinatown (aka trucking wisdom master) and we live in Alabama. Tennessee would be no issue, any idea on how long the classes take and if they use manual trans? Thanks

So she wants to start with a company without any school? Does driving with a permit count as experience??? If not, are there companies that hire with no CDL experience and no school?
Ayoungin205 Thanks this.
