So I was replacing the coolant on my truck when CEL and Stop Engine light came on with fault code ECU 01 and Spn 111 and Fail 19 which most of you probably know if for low coolant level or bad coolant sensor. After coolant was topped up, Check Engine Light and Stop Engine Light both cleared but the dash is still showing ECU 01 Fail 19 etc. My guess is the faults have cleared but the codes are stored in memory and that is what is showing on dash. Can anyone please confirm or deny this. Should I absolutely take it to a shop to get the codes cleared or will it clear by itself?. How long should it take. Truck is freightliner Cascadia 2013 with DD15 engine. Thanks in advance

My 2010 has to go thru full cycle, start, release parking brake, press and release clutch, press brake pedal, set parking brake.

If the check eng. and stop eng. lites are off and the truck runs ok, I;'d drive it. Mines got a couple faults all the time.
concdriver Thanks this. -
The dd15 I had did the same thing, fault code still shows up but the coolant is good

Usually after three successful starts with no fresh codes, then they will clear themselves.

Hello guys got 2012 cascadia i replaced coolant sensor an it’s full of coolant while I was driving check engine light came on an stop engine light started blinking engine shut off an censor is new came someone help me with problem please

If it is a bad sensor. You can just leave it unplugged. The yellow check engine light will stay on, but you will not get the red shut down.
If it still happens with the sensor unplugged, then it’s not the sensor.armo Thanks this. -
