I once hit a skunk just before I was going to stop for the night. I went to the fuel island to fuel, the skunk stunk:D, a driver 4 lanes over smelt it. I grabbed the water hose & sprayed under the truck, I couldnt see any remains of the stinky skunky:D. I parked for the night but couldnt sleep the skunk still stunk:p. Drove 48 miles to a Streakin Beacon, the washers werent happy to do the job but eventually the stinky skunky was gone. True story.

If your gonna hit a skunk do it with the trailer. Helps with getting unloaded faster and u don't smell it as much.

I'm one of those weird people who thinks skunk spray smells like a freshly opened can of coffee... as long as it's far away and not really strong.

I've lost count of the deer I've smashed. I think I'm up to like 13 now. I'm usually on a two lane in the dark in central PA. So there's lots of opportunity to hit deer. After a few, your heart rate don't even change. If they're laying on the road and I can pull over, I'll stop and drag them off the road. Otherwise, I will pull over at the next safe place and check for damages. Usually just a bumper. One thing I've learned is Western Star trucks are pretty resilient to deer. I dunno if it's because it has lots of ground clearance, or just a tough truck, but I've only ever had bent bumpers from deer.

Whatever you do, don't swerve! I will hit the brakes if I'm not in a turn, but most times that doesn't help anyway.

This will be put on my new truck before I take delivery of it. I run tankers here in the northwest. Cows, deer, elk, moose. You name it.

Its abit like the "Titanic " if the crew had of hit the ice berg head on it would never of sunk, the automatic reaction is to swerve i see cars and trucks do it all the time and then they cause a bigger incident then if they'd just hit the first one.
