That 12K pusher setup is of no use in most of the US.

For actual Heavy Haul use if you're going to carry the weight of a pusher around might as well make it a 20K axle.

Tri drives are mostly for being able to run Canada since most of them don't allow a lift axle on the tractor.

What does off-road use have to do with having a 20K tag? If you have traction or steering problems lift it up. Put it back down once you get on the highway again.

I seems we go through this same thread about once a month or so.

So as the resident king of the A holes , I will yet again try to ale my point ....

HH is about judgement, experience, patience and resources, problem solving and yes, even a tiny bit of common sense.

This is the main difference between what we (yes I identify as an HH) do and most other segments of the industry do. Yes, there are skills for other segments and no I do not pretend to have them. The tanker guys or livestock guys or hopper guys - all paid their dues to get those skills.

Why is it everyone just assumes HH is all about equipment?

just stop asking what tractor is required that be a super heavy haul genius l. Start asking what skills do I need to develope to understand how to do the job? These are both physical and mental skills.

Once the skills come, then the right questions will be easier to form and the answers will actually have meaning.

I hear the livestock guys make all the money... hell they take cruises and buy extra peterbilts with chrome. Start asking what is the best bull hauling tractor to buy Volvo or auto cascadia!

A tri drive? I can't remember the last time I saw one in America, but I can see no use for it.

I agree with, "HH is about judgement, experience, patience and resources, problem solving and yes, even a tiny bit of common sense." ...absolutely true especially from what I've seen & learnt so far.

It's always more than equipment for any job & industry but you're right, many only talk about the tip if the iceberg
