That is what went on my dd13. The #3 piston oil squirter failed and took out the piston, sleeve, and connecting rod. And that was with 1000 miles on a new long block. You can check everything and it still can blow up the next day. And how exactly is a internal engine failure Lone Mountains fault?
Aamcotrans, nightgunner, tazman74 and 2 others Thank this. -
It's not, any used truck can go bad the minute you drive off the lot, no matter how many ways you check it out.
So many think the can get a checked out used truck and start making money. But the truth is trucks eat money and buying on a shoestring just don't work.
Dealers just detail trucks and fix what they have too. They have no idea of the history of the truck.
Buyer beware, but it's still a crap shoot.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
This makes me sick to think about I was just gonna go through lone mountain for my first truck ;(

As @Old Man said its not a Loan Mountain issue. Its buying something mechanical issue. Heck buying a brand new truck is a crap shoot too. Ever buy bad food at the store? All you can do is go buy what you want, due your best to make sure it is a good product. Then just go for it and not over think it.drvrtech77, MartinFromBC, nightgunner and 2 others Thank this.

Currently having the same issue. Bought the truck early May. 2013 Pete 587 with 450 thousand on an old marten blue bird truck. Aside from a few minor mechanical repairs I put 20 thousand miles on it and the fuel pump craters. Problem is the fuel pump was a stupid design with ceramic plungers. Ceramic contamination in the motor. Called lone mountain aka cresco capital. All I can say is they are not only unconcerned about your problem they are seriously only concerned about "Their" asset.

so if you buy a USED car and 2 months later the fuel pump went bad would you be calling the used car dealer or your bank about it.....?
things break. how is it their fault or their responsibilityMartinFromBC, nightgunner, BoostedTeg and 3 others Thank this. -
Not knocking lone mountain for their position on this and as everyone here has said a truck can blow up the day you move it off the lot. Just saying your better off not even contactacting lone mountain about your situation. "She" asked me where the truck was being looked at and I told her. Service dept calls and says they got a fax from the "title holder" and all repairs must be paid IN ADVANCE. Right... They have no idea how extensive the problem is but want me to plop down literally tens of thousands of dollars on a possible complete rebuild.

I bought my used truck from lone mountain 6 1/2 years ago. it had 512,000 in it then. right now it was 1.200,000 on it, the only engine work has been injector cups at 1.150.000 miles, that's right the only time the valve cover has been off other than running the overhead was to change the cups....... engine trans and diff's all originalMatt1924, MartinFromBC and driverdriver Thank this.

you got a USED truck that had 450k on it drove it 20,000 miles and the fuel pump blew up...... did I miss read that....?

they are not only unconcerned about your problem they are seriously only concerned about "Their" asset..... did I miss read that....?
