Hansen and Adkins

Jron any word on the jessup, md location? I live in newark delaware right off of 95 near elkton, md. looking to apply next month. really want to get into car hauling thanks.

 

I'm no longer with H&A..but I worked in Jessup before moving to where I am now. Still out of the same yard different carrier. H&A is a good company. Living in Elkton is a good location for them since they do a good bit of Philly and PA. In general. My reasons for not being with them are not company related. I had my own personal issues and a few with them. I have nothing bad to say. But as was stated above... don't rush to try and get to top pay. There is a learning curve to this equipment. Be patient and listen and watch! I've been in it for a good while and alot of people are faster than I am. But I have 0 damages and make a great living. Good luck!!

If they have the freight could be every day.

 

The way I look at it is, food service is physically hard where car hauling isn't quite as physical but is also mentally stressful especially when you are first starting out. Trying not to damage anything while keeping the load under height so you don't hit things plus all the walking. Then while driving you are low, high and long going down the road which can create more stress getting around in this big unit still trying not to damage anything. So when I say this job is hard, this is how I would explain it.

How long did the hiring process take? I just applied Monday and the recruiter said I'll be hearing from the terminal manager in 2-4 business days. Is training loading/unloading cars at dealerships and auctions or just a remote location? Did you train in Jacksonville or San Antonio? Last and most importantly what's the average pay per week after all the training is over?

 

I don't think he'll be back. I will try to answer as best I can. I went to them with experience so I only went to orientation in Jax and then back to MD. You'll start in the classroom and then out back in the yard then probably with a trainer and finally shadow a trainer then on your own. Everyone is different in how long they take to train. Some guys pick it up right away some never get it. My hiring took about a week and a half. From Application, to background check and then physical/whiz quiz. And sorry can't help with the pay part.
