I'm toasting you right now, Blue Jay. Congrats on avoiding a bad apple. You're another driver saved from a bad decision. That's why I post here...to help guys like you avoid the minefields. I hit a few of those in my days driving, and I got the shaft pretty good.

    Now it's payback time.

    A Toast! Here-here!

Boy Funny thing is I got one of those Calls today and asked where did you get my Number, and respone was I found it on a truckers sites, I never put my Resume on any site, and he really told me the Truth, They get your number from The Schools that you Graduate from, to help you get employed....I was even offered .42 cents a mile after I work with one company to get all my training done in about 6 months then Switch over, he also said He'll be calling back after 2 months....Hmmm what should I Do?.....Go for more money, or stay with the company I am at?...

Gray, are you seriously askin' for advice? I assume you're just being sarcastic.

I'll say this to anyone who considers a company that does this--do you really want to go to work for a company that has to resort to pestering complete strangers via phone calls as a recruitment device?

Many believe there are still American guys being held in prisons in Vietnam. Those people also believe the government isn't doing enough to find the truth about all those MIAs. I say let J.B. Hunt recruiters have at 'em. If there are any MIAs left alive in Vietnam, those recruiters will find them--they're that thorough.

The same can be said for life on other planets. If there is any life out there, it will be found not by someone in SETI, NASA, or astronomy at all. Extraterrestrial life will be first discovered by a U.S. trucking company--probably J.B. Hunt or Swift.

I had J.B. recruiters calling me for a year after I had a DOT reportable even though I told them time and time again about the accident and they quickly turned me down for further consideration. I finally told one that called that if they did not go into their system and remove my name from their prospects that I would report them to the state attorney general. That stopped the calls, but I still continue to receive stuff in the mail to this day!!!!!!!!!!

I just had a thought in the subject of the calls...

Tell them you are a convicted serial killer and just got out of the pen in the last year....

They offer the moon but rarely deliver (if ever). Try Roehl Transport. I don't know if they are hiring in your area but it can't hurt.

Forget the no-call list. Recruiters have so many ways of getting a driver's name that any driver who asks to be removed from a call list will probably be right back on that list in no time after it is removed.

Lots of people get hounded by creditors. Sometimes those creditors pester these folks to pay bills that aren't even theirs. The solution? Attorney generals. Call your states' attorney generals and ask them to put a stop to this nonsense. Recruiters aren't creditors, but they're still hounding you. A man has a right to privacy. If my phone is ringing once a day because some trucking company recruiter thinks I'm fair pickings, I view that as an invasion of privacy. I bet your AG will think so, too. A man has the right to be left alone.

    My condolences...

...which changes when you get to their orientation.
