This is true , you can turn off specific permissions but it will stop the app from working.
This is the case with all apps I've wanted to use . it's also the reason I've only have two apps from the play store and why I have disabled completely several that came preloaded on this phone.
Schneider has absolutely no business having access to anyone's storage and that's what this app calls for including your SD CARD.
Compass App is a huge leap forward.

So you use the mobile version of the web portal.
Also there are a total of 31 reviews. 12,000 company drivers and 31 reviews.
Or maybe just chose not to use it at all. No one at Schneider is forcing anyone to use either the APP or the web portal on their own device. This is something that has been developed at the insistence of drivers.
Why do they want access to photos? To submit claim photos - no access to the camera/gallery and the app can't load pictures. Don't want to submit claim photos thru your phone? Use the accident camera that Schneider will provide.
It doesn't ask for your contacts information, it can't access your call log, your social stream, or your 'identity' as known by your phone. They ask for fewer permissions than Angry Birds.jakecat22 and TurtlesLikeI Thank this. -
I just use the camera on my phone and email to sem or to the one for claims

That works just fine, probably should have said "app" instead of phone. My point is that no one's being forced to use it, and Schneider has better things to do than try and use Compass to spy on drivers.
Heck, they're still working on sorting out where all the trailers are. You think they have the ability to track drivers?91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Roflmao !

Oh ok, so you can just click the no button and off you go? What does that accomplish? Lol

Covers SNI from a legal standpoint. They tell you not to use technology and drive, but then give you technology that works while driving they have a problem. Now they can show that the driver willfully ignored company policy and put the responsibility squarely on the shoulders ofnthe driver - where it should be if a driver crashes while using his phone.
-
The app only asked permission to access my photos and made sure I hade location services turned on.
That is it. -
The app also only asked to access photo and location, both of which are set to only allow access while i'm using the app in the foreground on my phone.
-
I was gonna get the app myself, but after seeing the reviews on google play, I decided to wait 'till they get all the bugs worked out of the new app.
