It happens with all new trucks. Has nothing to do with emissions. It's a harness most likely for the ecm.

    RocketyMan and Djstocks Thank this.

Start the truck, let it idle. Open battery box and wiggle the crap out of all the wires. Id wiggle the ecm plugs and any harness I could get my hands on. I had your same problem on an older truck and thats how I found the loose wires. Wiggle some grounds too they can also cause this.

I had the same problem with power cutting off in a 13 or 14 Cascadia. It was from water damage to a sensor box under the passenger dash caused by the infamous Freightliner leaky windshields. The derate problem could have been caused by contaminated DEF. Had that happen once, too.

Glider Cascadias have their own world of problems and aren't any much better.

I'm sure you checked for cracked fuses and such. But moreover, does this have a PNDB? Those bi-stable relays do eventually go bad--but you said this happened ever since. So I would suspect it being a wiring problem.

Can you pull codes possibly? SPN/FMI

RocketyMan, Could you expand a bit about the glider Cascadias having problems as well. Is it because of all the sam modules or something else. I had narrowed down my glider choice to a Cascadia but would like as much insight or advice any one could give. Thanks

    Ya shore!
In my experience, Cascadia Gliders are probably not the best choice for gliders. There are many features that will simply not function correctly because pre EPA S60s do not have the functionality for the intended design they are being implemented in.
If I was to go down the Glider route (which it is projected that 2018 MY units will be the last year for these to be supported), I would opt to get a Coronado Glider. They have the functionality, more-so manual functionality as a better word, of features that are supported.
I can give an example against Cascadia Gliders, e.g. Multiplexing. This is a great feature for DD series engines as it was the original design intent to be used with them but not be backwards compatible with pre EPA S60s.

please don't call multiplexing a GREAT FEAUTURE !. Its actually the worst feature ! Trucks are not luxury sedans, we don't need headaches. To save few pennies on copper wires they put that ####ty mutiplexing inside of trucks. Owners did not benefit of it, only dealerships benefit buy selling sam modules and charging for reprograming..
