I noticed my dot medical card expired on 6-17-17 & franticly looked for a place to renew it. I found a urgent care center that took walk ins, so all seemed great. I failed to write down one of my prescribed medication because I had stop taking said medication. The doctor told me I lied to a medical professional and failed to disclose such information. I forgot since I stopped taking the medication. The doctor checked the computer and saw I filled the prescription on 6/30/17 ; I explained I had not taken the script and still had the entire bottle to prove such. The doctor claimed the matter was over, he would not issue me a card & he was reporting me to DOT for lying to a medical professional. I am scared to death about what I do from here. Do I call DOT or just find another doctor and make sure to list all the correct medications? I have a good job working for the city I live in and must retain a CDL & Medical Card to keep employment. People make mistakes, I just hope this doesn't cost me my life. I have 30 days left to renew my medical card before I lose my CDL or does this failure and report automatically do so? I live in massachusetts. This all happened today 7/30/16

Your cdl might of got dropped the day your physical ran out. Better get with the safety people or state and plead your case and get a new physical. You have a valid script that you filled recently. Taking or not.
Plead your case like first thing in the morning and get it squared away fast
If not you just lost your job

I was told i had 90 days after medical card expired to renew or id have to start from a permit all over again, but then this happened. Does this immediately revoke my cdl or can I get an exam elsewhere?

OK, first of all the doctor is an ahole. Second is he was lying to you. There is currently not a medical dot physical database yet. All you need to do is find another DOT dr. and redo the physical. You'll be good then.
It strikes me as weird he even cared. Maybe he was coming to work in his BMW and had to actually get behind a truck merging on the freeway or something...
Oh, and remember to write down all prescription. Even though this is the first I ever heard it being an issue. Mostly they care about thinks like banned prescriptions, blood pressure meds, and diabetes.

It depends on what state you are in. Some give you 90 before they drop your CDL. Some give you 30. For example OK gives you 30 days before they drop it down. But as long as you bring in a new card before your license expires the will give you your CDL back. Just call your DMV or DPS. They can explain it better than anyone on here.

First off, was the medication treating a condition that would otherwise render you unfit to drive? If not, would taking the medication affect your ability to safely operate a CMV?

If the answer to both questions is "no" , then whether you were prescribed the medication or not and whether or not you are taking it is irrelevant to your ability to be certified as medically fit. I would place a stop payment on the check IMMEDIATELY (if paid by check) or contest the charge (if paid by credit card). You paid for the doctor to certify you, and he not only refused to do so but is threatening your livelihood over a minor oversight in an irrelevant matter on your part.

Then, I'd find another doctor and make #### sure I disclosed everything on the form that can be looked up in my medical records. As soon as you get the card, personally walk it into the DMV to make sure they have it and that your license is in good standing.

There is a LOT of prescription abuse these days....perhaps the doctor felt you were yet another lying abuser, and "the buck stops here". Who knows?

Yeah when your medical card expires, your CDL isn't a CDL anymore until you renew the card. This won't fly with a cop if you get pulled over. There's a lot going on lately with medical cards and data bases etc. I'm not sure exactly what. The Doc you used did in fact have some sort of access if he found out you just filled a script. Good luck

OP, I am puzzled by this part of your post.

The doctor checked the computer and saw I filled the prescription on 6/30/17

So my doc can't see if I filled a script or not, she can see that I was issued one but that's it. I don't think the doc can see it filled unless they are linked to a pharmacy DB and chances are they are not.

So please clarify what doc this was and how did they see a script that was filled.

Actually, the OP paid for an examination to be performed, whether he passed or failed is irrelevant as far as the charges. If I go for a DOT physical and don't receive one due to high blood pressure, hernia, etc....I still have to pay for the exam. I do think the Dr was an ### in this situation but he/she has a license to protect, same as you and me.
