Most of those types of construction jobs go to union companies anyway, so that isn't going to create any more jobs. Those jobs will already be filled. Take care of the small business owners, as they are the ones that create over 80% of the jobs in the country.

Everybody better get some form of health care because we are about to get taxed to death just like every other time the liberals take control of the crack house.

Beg to differ with you here- not that we EVER disagree LOL- but assuming that you are correct here, and I believe you are, this WILL create jobs because these jobs are not already filled. The out of work lists (sometimes referred to as "the hook") are brim full right now with out of work union construction hands. However, you must understand that the vast majority of heavy and highway construction in most areas of the country is being performed these days by nonunion contractors, a good many of whom are really short of work right now and consequently have furloughed (laid off) a large portion of their respective workforces. Thus, since most contractors will have to initiate a workforce expansion (rehire the workers) these unemployed construction hands will once again have jobs- and they will once again begin spending wages earned thus boosting the economy.
As far as small business owners (like me) sharing in this windfall, I'll use my own tiny operation as an example. I would expect to be able to contract out my dumper and perhaps even my loader at an attractive hourly rate. In turn I will also be spending my profit on consumer goods and services, thus contributing in my own small way to boosting the economy.
    Make sense now?

When have we ever disagreed? :biggrin_25525: It's not going to create new jobs, which are also needed. It will put workers in those industries back to work, but it's not going to create any new jobs. It's going to be a drop in the bucket.

But, if you make too much money and put yourself over the magic number for income (whatever that ends up being), then you'll be paying more in taxes. If you would want to bring on an employee (if you were inclined to expand), that tax increase would cut down how much you could expand wouldn't it?

A buddy of mine is possibly going to lose his job because his boss is contemplating closing down due to the proposed tax increases on businesses and the mandatory health care he would be required to provide. He currently pays an increasing percentage based on time with the company of the employee's health care if they choose to find a policy for themselves if not covered under a spouse's insurance.

So you're asserting that putting people to work is not creating new jobs? Is it creating used jobs?
You may want to research a bit about how the tax code works as well; specifically about what is called the graduated rate of taxation...

If a person is closing their business under these circumstances, I believe it was in trouble long before. The actual cost of the proposal would not be that drastic. The proposed medical insurance thing is not going to be a law for many years.

I would be looking for something else with an employer like that anyway.
