I thanked you for correcting me. All in all my understanding is that the D60 is cheaper and easier to maintain than the ISX. As an ISX owner, and with less than a year and more than $24K into my EGR era engine, I would steer any new O/O away from this profit sink.
Again, I should have taken my original mechanic's advise and simply swapped out the ISX for a D60 the first time. Instead I have ended up opening the engine another three times to finally stop the oil leaks and almost done a complete in frame in expensive installments.
New O/O's aren't always mechanically savvy. It is best to avoid issues if you have a heads up. With 20/20 hindsight I should have never bought my truck. My plan now is to build enough reserve to get a real truck as soon as possible.
12.7 Detroit vs isx15 please help

I have a 03 t800 with a cat engine laying around give me 15k and its all yours.... but yes the d60 is a better engine also the engine rebuilt is about 5 to 12k cheaper on a d60 than a cummins and parts are also cheaper, you can pretty much get them in any ta in north america

Go with the Classic for sure. Great for a 1st truck between the S60 engine and the Freightliner itself parts for both are cheap and readily available.

Also that classic has the 84 inch sleeper on it. You can hold a square dance in those. This would be any easy choice between the two providing the dyno, oil samples, & overall inspection of the truck checks out.

I Bought the classic. The Brakes and tires are in the 80% range, it came with a new spare, 4 gallons of lucas oil, 3 gallons of window fluid, misc lights. He also left all the little stuff that sometimes is taken like, CB TV Fridge Microwave etc. Truck has a 50 foot air line set up to connect to glad hands plus there is tons of chrome etc so no money to be spent there. The dual 140 fuel tanks were topped off before I got there to pick it up.
He had all the paperwork where all the suspension has been redone in the last year including the 5th wheel.
Truck has tons of power and I am taking it to have the speed set to 75 max. -
