I'd be a farmer with 3000 acres
Badmon, D.Tibbitt and motocross25 Thank this. -
I don't think "dream" and "job" are two words I would ever marry together. A life of toil and answering to other people is not my idea of any dream. A true dream lifestyle is one of travel and leisure IMO, and to experience the best the life has to offer.

You don't think that an athlete has that?

They're under constant pressure to make their performance numbers and avoid career ending injuries, which could happen at any time, so while they may be very well paid, what they do is a "job" that requires hard work and is not always fun just like any other job.
okiedokie and CrappieJunkie Thank this. -
Yeah I definitely would get a thrill out of something like that. Being an entrepreneur basically no matter what you are selling seems a solid idea. And as you say there are lots of small things you might not know but I guess thats part of the learning experience which can be a rewarding experience especially if you enjoy the work.

My dream job would be a decent truck, pulling a reefer trailer. Hauling food
products all over the country. No appointments, run not more than 600 miles
per day, unload pallets only-no breaking down pallets, none of the usual BS that
modern day reefer drivers have to deal with.
Make enough to live comfortable but not so much I have to pay a lot of taxes.
Company provided health insurance in case I get sick.
No brokers, no lumpers, no college educated idiots calling me ten times a day
because they want to know where the truck is. Customer does not have my cell
phone number, my cell phone would be for me to use. Customer will get the
load when I get there, calling me 50 times a day for a week will not speed up the
process. Dispatch and load planners would actually do their jobs instead of passing
it off to me to do for them.
Take a day or two once in awhile, prop my feet up and let the world pass me by
sometimes. Turn my phone off and catch up on my TV watching. Now that would be
heaven on earth.
P.S. Never ever deliver to another Walmart DC, ever. Those morons can starve to
death for all I care. Same goes for Associated Grocers, Nasty Finch, and any other
grocery warehouses who consider truck drivers to be their personal slaves.motocross25 Thanks this. -
Very well said!!

I was going to say a dream job of mine might be to work at a TV station, back in the analog TV broadcast days not now a days, now that the TV industry is in total decline, but to work in local TV like here in Cleveland there used to be a couple movie and comedy skit shows, and to work in that capacity would be fun, but those days are over now.motocross25 Thanks this.
