I Know of Erich. If he thinks it needs a tune, then it needs a tune. Your ecm is still operating like you have the old cam in it. You will like his work.

Food for thought. 12.7's are likely to drop a valve if ran very long a tooth out. I would check the time via the lobe lift method as suggested.

Ive got the same setup as you and have a 4912 cam sitting on the shelf i have yet to install. I need to get it installed and see how the truck performs after the swap. I had also talked to erich and he said i would need a ecm retune to have everything match up. I have my ecm tuned as of right now to the 5915's and the stock 470 cam. He also told me he could give me more power if i wanted with the retune and new cam. Just waiting to get time to do it all.

Yeah the more I run I dont think it's out of time, it pulls pretty good, doesnt seem to be making extra heat, i was really just expecting more change, will see about a little more fuel when we finish this well.
prerunner404 Thanks this. -
You *need* to check it via the injector lobe lift method. Lining up the marks isnjist to get you started.
