Good afternoon,
I want to start doing my own valve adjustments. I have a 2012 Kenworth T700 with a Paccar MX13 motor. I would like to see if someone has the procedures on how to do it or a video. Maybe a step by step guide. Since its one of those things I need to do every 150 I would like to do them myself. Thank you.

have you ever adjusted valves before if you haven't you have to develop a certain feeling for it to do it properly so it's kind of tough to pick it up right away
Oldironfan and Misterpreston Thank this. -
No I havent but i thought there was a tool that you could utilize to make sure to adjust it properly

Take it to a mechanic who, will teach you how to do an overhead which means you will pay for his time in teaching you.

problem is a proper valve adj is not something that can be taught by looking at it once you have to develop a feeling for the feeler gauges that you know you have proper gap, you could leave it to loose or even worse make it to tight.

Makes sense. Ive just started wanting to learn how to do all of this myself and learning more about my truck.

learn simple things first than just into the engine work.
