    Way I understand it, they are making it 4 lane all the way across and possibly making it I-40 extension to Bakersfield.

    They'll have to shut off the non freeway part at California City though, which won't be difficult.

    Heck I remember when 58 was mostly 2 lane and you had go thru Mohave.
