I wish the OP would listen to some of the posts that say GO TO YOUR DOCTOR instead of messing around with all other ideas that may not work and get a script for this pill. it is a simple water pill, it isn't habit forming and it helps.
Another reason for high BP and diets - especially starvation diets like the OP - it the fact that the body is in panic mode and everything to do with burning fat is taking care of just that - BURNING fat.
SO GO TO YOUR DOC's, asked for this and talk to him about your diet.UsualSuspect Thanks this. -

For the record it is my belief the best overall cure for high blood pressure is lifestyle changes. I am not speaking about just truck drivers. Having high blood pressure is not something you should be doing (fixes) just for a (card). Since I retired I have lost some weight and without any medication I actually suffer from low blood pressure at times now. I'm careful about what I eat and avoid processed food. If you DO NOT get this condition corrected, and I am NOT speaking of just correcting it for a few days just to get a card either. You are putting your vision in jeopardy. You are increasing the risks of heart problems as well. Another thing that bothers me is all the overweight drivers out there that are either full type 2 diabetes or are borderline. Their blood sugar is OUT of control. Wake up folks. Very soon you won't be able to fast the night before a physical because the exam will be an A1C and you can't hide this one. If your A1C is over 10 it takes MONTHS to get this down.
Just keep my words in mind next time you grab that 40 oz soda and that hamburger and go back to driving.
Years ago way before Pilot bought out Flying J's I was sitting in the fish hook in Greenwood La trying to eat breakfast when I noticed a guy that must have weighed over 400 pounds make 5 trips to the buffet and return with a plate latterly rounded off with food. I was speaking to my mother that morning and told her I was watching a guy commit suicide by food. -
Moose, I kind of don't agree with this "If your A1C is over 10 it takes MONTHS to get this down."
I have to appointments today, one is a annual check and the other is a painful two hours of xrays, MRIs and CT scans. I know my a1c is high, can't help with the amount of stress I am going through and the pain I have to deal with but I had a 9.8 at one time under similar conditions with an ultimatum from my doc, so I went on a really hard diet, the next visit I had a 7.4, and after that 6.2 - this was 6 months of eating right, low carbs and a lot of veggies made right. No soda or coffee and water, lots of water. So it doesn't take a long time, it can be done but you have to be disciplined well enough to do it quickly.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I just wanna clarify to new comments on this thread...I have been focusing on getting more healthy already. Trucking is simply just something that's helping motivate me more through some of the days that I'm literally having fights with myself in my head to avoid that fast food joint I just drove past....
