Well if it was me and I was going to keep the truck and probley log another million, I would not piss around trying to save a buck. Use genuine Detroit parts.
Seen to many issues down the road with jobber crap. Some people get away with it but I never did.. what you might save you end up spending 3 times that later on.

Had a b model cat . Used clevite parts.
Rebuilt it 3 times. Wouldn't stop burning oil. 3rd time used cat parts never looked at it againRubyEagle, Oxbow, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'll second that. Open an account with the Freightliner dealer. You might get lower prices just by having an account.
-
Hey, Detroit has redirected me to Freightliner for the parts. Have you had or heard negative feedback with aftermarket parts?
-
The difference in oem and quality aftermarket is only a couple hundred bucks. If you are getting a kit substantially cheaper, then either your local detroit dealer is a jerk jacking the price way up and you should call another, or you are looking at poor quality Chinese junk aftermarket kits.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Well im getting American made parts for $3,200 and the original parts from Freightliner is adding up to $4900. These are parts made by companies like MAHLE
