I've thought about doing that for shooting skip on the weekends. That or putting a yagi and a mini tower on the back of my trailer.

Ya, I was wondering the same. The owner thought I might need to go directly to the battery. But his son who is the one who does the installs said he wouldn't need to do that. I do know that It won't fit in the t680 overhead so I'd have to probably fasten it to the dash without making holes. I'm definitely getting a 100+ watt radio in the not to distant future. Model is still up in the air.bored silly Thanks this.

At first I thought something was wrong cause I was hearing faint talking till I realized they were far away. I'm picking up people I didn't hear before out of range of the firesticks I guess. White noise seems to be the same, depends on the area too. I run squelch all the way down and rf right where static starts.Slowmover1, Hick and wolverine11 Thank this.

I'm running two antennas cause I stayed with the factory coax. I'll go to one with new coax when I buy the big radio. Hell I have coax left over from other trucks I ran may as well use it. Now I got 4 antennas in the box not counting the 2 factory ones.

Check your owners manual under electrical ( section 5) and locate the fuses. I looked but didnt see cb radio but one page is too small for me to see good. I did find cigarette lighter ( power port) and they use a 15 amp fuse so Im guessing the cb hookup is probably the same. A 100 watt radio will probably draw maximum 10 to 12 amps so you could buy the K40 power cord and run it to a power port and it should be fine.Last edited: Aug 2, 2017

Where are you going to mount single antenna?
-
On the driver's side stock mount. Run the new coax where the phased one goes up into the itty bitty cb tray. These plastic trucks are a pain.bored silly Thanks this.
-
Sounds like a plan. So use single browning and keep other one in place on other side for looks.

problem there my friend is some scumbag could easily steal them but they look real good on the KenworthHick Thanks this.
