The best way to thwart the cam is to find another company to work for.

My boss threatened to put driver facing camera's in all the trucks. I took my shirt off, and simply pointed out, I don't look good naked. Still no camera.

That's half the truth. But with certain fleet cam systems today, ANY time segment can be retrieved at will [within a given number of days]. All they need is a reason to tell it [via remote command] what segment to upload. A reason such as a call-in from a motorist a few days after an incident is alleged to have occurred

All depends on the system. Ours records 4 seconds before, 8 seconds after an event is triggered. Ours overloops itself, no footage is stored. All depends on the system, and how much the company wants to pay for monitoring service.
