Handling more miles that your illegally allowed def isn't an issue for most. I just don't wanna deal with the repercussions of some drunk rear ending me and killing themselves while I was out of hours. Lawyers love that kinda scenario

Its going to vary by company driver.. Some are more strict than others. Last company I was with they could care less about that 16 hour work day or allotted 2 hour driving window. Also from my understanding you can only personal conveyance off duty only while bobtail, not to a work related act either. Also should've took route 11 around that scale driver, other wise make sure you do the proper speed limit in there to keep the flow going. lol! Safe travels.

It won't be until December 16, 2019 for my company since we already have EOBRs and have had them for quite some time, so I'll continue to use common sense until then.

Common sense seems to have been outlawed around the same time reality-based TV shows start coming out. You must pay a fine to use it. It's not the norm of ppl in 2017.

Watch the movie idiocracy and you will see what I'm saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually it's the other way Sir...

If you cannot get reasonable appointment times out of your stupid shippers and recievers and cannot hire teams to bypass the HOS limitations then why are you still in trucking?

    I have to ask that.

The problem to me is the shippers and recievers. You want this load when? And WHERE? I don't think so.

Eld's have created a big problem with a whole lot of things. One of them is parking. I see loves building more fuel stops. But just like pilot they don't classify as truck stops because they are too small.

But it seems that more parking areas can't be built fast enough. You always see ppl having to make themself a parking space. By 7pm most truck stops are full.

Yah its not just truck stops but company terminals for the mega's also. The way I see it, after the eld mandate, drivers are going to abuse the reporting thing for the eld. There is going to be a short uprising in the power pyramid where drivers will be in control because of the harassment feature. You know the megas, the gov, and dot are all in the same boat. But the ocean is crowded with sharks, the most common type of shark is a harassment lawyer ^_^. You see where I'm getting at? It will be a short power change because their solution to this are driverless trucks.
