At least in DFW, they only seem to be hiring owner ops. I've talked to a few owner ops running local pu/delv, and they only post the line haul jobs for owner ops.
Guessing each terminal is different though

 

If it makes you feel any better at 58 I was tipping a 53 footer full of tires 5 days a week.

I stopped at 59 and went from 175 to 205 in the next year.

You might want to take a second look at swift transportation. Started there now I work for UPS
