You, my friend, have hit the nail right on the head. I have been thinking that very thought for some time now. I know that there will be a lot of old school trucks out there and many current carrier's that won't except them. I would love to be part of a carrier of those old schooler's...

I don't see what could be a problem.... A Carrier with nothing but older trucks leased on, no law against that is there? 99's and later are exempt from the HOS regulations coming to fruition on Dec 17th of this year. I mean sure, it would be no different than any other carrier, other than that. Insurance would be better for us all and we just need a start.

Insurance is the key, isn't it? Got to search how much it would take to get started. I think that would be the biggest startup expense besides the trucks. (And an address. Got to have a physical address, can't be a PO box anymore)

Exactly Wickedfire77, and wouldn't that help us all as a Carrier, with freight? Maybe... I know the more truck's you have, or so I have heard, on the same Insurance plan, the cheaper it is for every truck owner. Maybe we should start a thread regarding this and see what comes of it... I don't think an Address would be a problem, can use any address for that, I mean a residents or a shop. I am not looking to become the next SNI or anything, just make a name, and save on things like fuel, Ins and parts.

Surely there are some O/O's on here that wouldn't mind banning together to save a fuel, Ins and whatever... Worth talking about anyway..

Update: $7200 to get a ton of work done on this old COE. He is looking much better by the week. I drove it home Saturday and it road and drove great! I have cleaned up the frame, paid a guy to do some welding and painted it. It looks more like a truck that has been used, than a truck that has been sitting in the grass somewhere. I have a stack to put on it yet, an air leak to track down and see if I can get my windshield washer fluid to spit out. Also, I have ordered new tank-strap retention hardware but, it will be next weekend before I can put those on.

BTW, I am taking the Dedicated gig for CWS Dedicated or, B&W Cartage out of Taylor, MI B&W is the carrier and CWS is the Contractor. Anyway, I don't like the pay at all but, I can live with it for now. A bigger gig may be opening up in January. For now, I will do a live load in Boyne City, MI and a drop & hook in Michigan City, IN at the Speedway right off 94 exit 134. Live Load at 02:00 and d&h at 07:30 Do that 6 days a week for a total of 6 trips. I will park on the return for 12 hours back at the house every day.. When all the Fixed/Variables are accounted for, I will put $1600 in my pocket each and every week. Yeah, that is not a lot but, it definitely pays my bill's and will get my house built. Like I said, something bigger may be opening up in January so....
