Went through a no truck zone in Small Town PA to get to the no trucks allowed overnight place where I'll wait til morning to offload 1200 tires then try to leave through the same no truck zone but with traffic. This is the place my dispatcher told me to spend my 34. Zero facilities. I'm parked across the street at a NAPA parking lot and have no idea what's going to happen in the morning; I'm not supposed to be here (signs everywhere) but I'm not moving now. Also the receiver has no dock so I'll have to sit in and block a narrow street while they unload me. I'm not allowed to help.
Some days I hate my life. I guess we'll all see what's what tomorrow.
Time to cook dinner and watch TV.
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Sounds like my life as a mover.
-
You're a better man than I, sir. No way am I spending the night without facilities.
-
Not to mention the 10pm knock on the door and the cop hands you a ticket and tells you to beat it.
-
That is the way of life for our driver, no facilities. LOL! With the ELD in order to manage the time correctly sometimes it is sleeping/breaking outside the delivery spot.

Got it in one.
I spend a lot of time at receivers, but they usually have a bathroom or porta potty and room to park. This place doesn't even have a dock. I had to park across the street. I'm waiting for this parts and service center to open and kick me out. Then I'll get to sit in the street in front of the receiver and block traffic. I don't even know how I'm supposed to get out of there after unloading without backing blind around a corner onto Main Street as I can't just circle the block.
This is ridiculous. -
HMMM this [ sniff sniff ] passes as the usual any small town Pa. rant - almost always followed by a warm fuzzy feeling upon return to big road.
-
Nailed it.
They came and got me, led me through town to a one lane driveway to a warehouse in the woods. Took three men to help me jacknife the trailer to a dock. Couldn't back it, had to spin it around to move the back of the trailer to the dock. Shed in front of me, creek on one side, woods all around. Scratched the bumper guard (cattle bar) on the shed, almost damaged the cab extenders from cranking it around so far. At least it was pouring rain all morning so I couldn't see in my mirrors.
Got the #### out of there and getting something to eat before I ascertain any damages to the equipment.bigred81 Thanks this. -
ouch rain can dampen the return of happy fuzzy feelings

Minor scratches on the cow catcher but that's all. Lost six hours getting next load (looooonnnnng live load) so this one is spooched (due 1100 tomorrow--still 575 miles out and my 10 isn't over til 0930). Called night dispatch to let them know....
Yeah, not gonna be bothering with night dispatch much any more, I think.
