Aboot to start driving for a company that uses APUs (FINALLY lol) and was wondering if the APU uses the trucks hvac vents or has its own? Does air/heat blow out of all the vents front and back, or just in the bunk? Generally how cold can an APU go down to?

On a 2016 T680 the APU has its own air conditioning system under the bunk but taps into the same bunk vents the truck's HVAC system uses. The cab AC vents aren't connected to the APU.

My system is the Kenworth KIMS made by bergstrom, similar to their NITE Phoenix system. Battery powered, runs between 8-12 hrs depending on ambient temp on a full charge. It puts out 10,000btu so I've only had to idle the truck twice when temps were over 110 deg. It would have kept it cool enough but the wife was with me so I ran the truck AC on high idle to cool it down another 5-10 degrees.

Bergstrom has a decent web page where you can get the installation manuals and see how the system works. Love mine, no problems with about 6,000 system hours. I'll definitely get the same system again.
