Took a job working for my cousin's transportation company. Didn't have much of an option due to back surgery and not too many companies in TX wanna hire ya with stuff like that going on. On to the point..
Been here a little over a year and pay was decent. Standard pay for most loads. Mileage pay for OOT. Recently went to standard rate for rig recovery manifest. $100.00 per manifest. No matter the mileage, or how many manifests were signed. I drive his company vehicle. No out of pocket expenses except food.
2 weeks ago he decided to change policy again. 70/30 commission split after fuel on in town runs. Out of Town runs 70/30 split after fuel and a standard maintenance deduction of $75.00 each run. Out of Town run is considered anything over 60 miles. And I pay cost of hotel if needed.
I asked for price sheet for what the company charges and was provided with a list of what I'm able to charge the company for certain loads in certain areas. That's it. I'm not sure about a lot of this stuff cause I've only ever drove for big distribution companies. Any advice is greatly appreciated and much needed.
Am I getting totally screwed??

Yup.
Perry much sounds like your getting screwed. Classic example of the boss charging one rate and telling you another. In other words he is skimming off the top.Orangees, TimmyT, snowman_w900 and 3 others Thank this. -

Only thing that matters is your pay. Is it good money compared to other driving jobs ? If not, move on.
TimmyT Thanks this. -
yep sure are as a company driver @ $0.36 per mile with an average of say 680 miles per day would be $245 per day if as an O/O your making not much more than that your being conned big time.

If you have to ask the question in the first place... probably so!
