Can someone please answer this question. Would breaking a contract with CRST while after obtaining my cdl's prevent me from becoming a owner operator?

Nope, not at all. Go out there, buy your truck, and have at it.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
I'm curious which DMV is giving people more than one CDL

Crst can't stop you from doing 'anything '

Become a member of www.OOIDA.com which is a business website for the owner-operator.

Wouldn't it depend on the contract ? If your have a contract to work for CRST and they paid for you schooling. They can't stop you, they would put thing on your credit rate saying you owe them money and you did not pay them back. That wouldn't look so good if you plan on taking some kind of loan to get a truck.
You can always pay the contract off, if it was for CDL training or what ever the contract is for.Last edited: Aug 8, 2017

No.
CRuSTy will try to collect the contract amount from you.
If you don't respond after 60 to 90 days they will sell it to a collection agency. If you don't settle with the agency they will file suit against you. If you don't fight the suit you WILL lose by a default judgement.
Once you lose the court case you are subject to garnishment.
That all dings your credit. Not the end of the world but I would highly suggest finishing the contract with their stupid worthless ##### just because in the long run it will be easier on you.
What is their contract length now? It was 9 months some years ago.

YEAH. IT WAS 8 MONTHS IN 2012. I REFUSE TO FINISH IT WITH THEM. THEY ARE THE WORST EVER. SMH ITS ALREADY IN COLLECTION AND ITS GAINING A LOT OF INTEREST. WILL I BE ABLE TO WORK FOR ANOTHER COMPANY AS A OWNER OPERATOR ALSO?
-
Being that im am under the contract no other company would even except me as a company driver.

As an independant Owner Operator you will make a drivers file. You will fill out an application to work for your own company. It will be up to you if you hire yourself.
