Well, seems there is some balance in the universe--I ended up with some paid time off this weekend, at home.

Rage subsiding.

Steven King's Dark Tower series is comprised of several volumes, each around 1200 pages long. The story is an epic high fantasy spanning millennia and several universes, and I was excited to see that a movie had been made starring Edris Elba as the iconic Gunslinger and Matthew MacConaghey(sp?) as the villainous sorceror known as the Man In Black.

I expected a portion of one of the story arc presented with the amazing visuals now possible in moviemaking, with a cliffhanger ending perhaps in order to milk the eager masses hungry for more of Mr. King's amazing yarn.

What I got was an attempt to squeeze several thousand pages of story and character development into an hour and a half. The result was an interesting diversion worthy of a Sci-fi Channel Saturday afternoon feature.

Wait for the DVD.

 

Watching Big Hero 6 on DVD.

Fun movie.

 

To the yard tomorrow for 35K service, then home for doctor's appointment.
