I just did my first Convoy load today. So far so good. Delivery went smooth and so did the paperwork transfer. Free quick pay in one day, so we'll see if I get paid tomorrow. Over all it was a good experience with a solid rate.

They do pay the next day, I confirm. No fees. Bunch of easygoing, young dudes. The don't seem to B.S at all. This is what I call a competition to greedy, cheap brokers.

Robots will take our jobs no doubts and it is good as long Gov pay us universal income no matter if we have job or not.

ha ha ha! if the give me 100k a year, I am good.
and the world is going there. Only a few will have something valuable to do. Most of folks will not contribute anything even if they wanted to. Even for procreation they won't be needed. Heck it is scary. Look at Spartans, they were throwing weak, non prospective infants off the cliff. Hopefully, they will give us some money to idle and not a social euthanasia.

Yep they will, just like they have been for the last 70 years when they started to come out in factories...
Oh wait, you mean there are still factory jobs? Not to mention self driving trucks will not happen in my lifetime (outside a few tests, and maybe even special roads set up for them. Kinda like the special "tracks" there are all over the place....)

if you are in your 80s then probably no. I was loaded with 18 pallets of water in Pleasant Prairie, WI , by a driver-less forklift. The set of skills of a forklift operator and a truck driver are different, but both are simple and it is not that far from a forklift operator to a truck driver career wise.
So even if the robots won't replace you, at least they will influence you.

I would disagree with this comment. Fork lifts are used in a controlled environment, trucks are not. Nothing anywhere close to being controlled in the environment we operate in, I'm not just talking about other driver neither. Weather, road surface, electrical control device failure, animals, mechanical failure and these are just a few obstacles that come to Mindanao I could keep going if you wish, but I bet by now you've came up with a few of your own.

Give your self some credit, you are an equipment operator that does make many decisions based on many factors that programming cannot account for, at least not accurately at this time. Remember the Tesla that drove into the side of a turning semi because of sun position and color of the trailer. Take some pride in what you do, it's not an assembly line job.

What does the forklift do when the pallet falls over? Or the pallet gets stuck/hung up on the floor?

You guys are believing this BS way too much. If there are driverless trucks, i will be rich. I can guarantee you that.
