This might be the best place for this topic, as a tank Yanker i need to whear the dreaded chem gear while loading and un loading , currently use the company issued green heavy gumby gear , yep it sucks when its hot . What are the alternative solutions ? Any light and breathable gear on the market ? Where do you store your gear ( i have a day cab and just dont want to put the gear in the cab ) I put the gear in the side box with the fittings , but looking for an idea to keep the gear cleaner .

If the gear was breathable it wouldn't protect you.
Wear what they issued you. If you get aftermarket gear and get hurt, you'll probably have to fight for your worker's comp.
Chem suit is part of the job in tank work. Embrace it or move on to running toilet paper daily into East Overshoe, Idaho. Chemical burns are forever, and they can be ugly.
I used to keep mine in a nylon gym bag in the cab with me. Stayed clean and didn't stink up the cab. I haul gas now, so I don't need one anymore.chalupa Thanks this. -

Chemical Splash
You can get breathable chemical gear. Its just 10 times the cost of the plastic suits most companies issue. -
And worth every penny too.
But yeah, knab a big, heavy duty nag for your gear. It held meet the clutter in the truck down and its handy to jusy be able to grab everything if you need to switch trucks. Just make sure you dont have anything on the suit before you stow it or you can contaminate everything inside the bag -
But I don't like Idaho lol , i have been doing this for a while , had a sleeper and just put it in the side compartments of the cab , i will just mount a small box and use that . I hear you on company issued stuff , i know there has to be something better , if i find it and safety approves i am all set lol.

Used to be hard to put on the PVC gear on those 90+ degree days when the loaders were wearing those red GoreTex suits making jokes about our cheap company making us wear condom suits...
and that was a good 20 years ago.Weeble Kneeble Thanks this. -
Red Goretex suits are the best way to go. You can get them in one piece or two. $1200 for a two piece I heard. Can't let it get wet though (rain), loses its protection. Then you have no choice but the Gumby suit.
