If you are only doing weekend classes... here is a suggestion. If you know someone who has a trailer, and they will let you use it...
Go to a big empty parking lot or some place where you will have room and not hit anything. And practice backing it up... every day. Remember to only use your side mirrors... and if you can get a spotter... that would be better.
To me a lot of the things we learned at school is repetitive... muscle memory. And only learning on the weekends... takes longer for it to sink in.

You never did circles in the yard, learning how to shift up and down?
I hope that's not what they did when you missed class for work. Will he work extra with you?
I think they all put us on the road before we are really ready. I think it's that sink or swim mentality. But hey what do I know, I'm still new. We went on Thursday to take our CDL test and I didn't pass. My husband did barely. The offset backing, is what did me in.
Keep practicing as much as you can.

DON'T give up. You are at school to learn, so learn. We all learn at different pace. Don't beat yourself up! (That"s what friends are fore). You gave money to get a CDL, so go get it. You will do fine (Driver).

You don't go higher than 6 on the road or just when on the yard?
