Good luck, fire dept's have good benifits and such. But they don't pay a lot untill u get somm decent rank

You might require a class a, but technically you shouldn't need a CDL, which means COMMERCIAL driver's license. A fire truck is not a cmv.

Most fire houses have kw fire trucks these days. My cousin's dept has always required a cdl since the 90's. And I'm not sure of it but they may require a tanker endorsement. But I would have to ask

When I went to CDL school there was a guy there who was only there to get his cdl for the fire department he was going to work for. Not to be a trucker. Maybe they don't require it for everyone but I imagine they need only a few to have one to drive the trucks. The rest of them are ride alongs, correct me if I'm wrong.
