On Duty means On Duty, and it will interrupt your rest hour. When thed ELD records your truck movement at 5mph or more, it will put you in Driving mode. You can then set that move to Onduty yard move (which will break your rest period) or Personal Convenience Driving (which will allow you to not break your rest break. However, you must be an Owner Operator AND not under dispatch to use Personal Convenience)

Technically, NO Drive time that is committed (saved) can be edited. Period. This is why you have do what you can to get the truck stop and shut off BEFORE you also exceed any distance threshold that also probably exists in your system.

What happens after the new year is anybody's guess but I'm optimistic mine will stay as it is, which I can live with.

Elog didn't cause you to pay to park. You also shouldn't have been illegally parked. That stop stays packed. There are other fuel stops nearby

If you are serious then no more OTR for me.This whole trucking thing is becoming more and more ridiculous. When the ELD mandate starts again?

Eh and I started to worry! All East Europeans will be cruising coast to coast on personal convenience and obviously not under dispatch.

Last week, I was just forced to pay $14 to park at the TA in Duncan, SC. Almost half their huge lot is designated reserve parking. I couldn't find a free designated parking at 6:00pm and parked on the side like I always do when there are no parking. 3 hours into my break, the TA's staff told me to move even though i was not blocking any traffic. They told me to park in the Reserve parking or get out of their property. Normally, I would just move across the street to park at the Pilot or anywhere else but this time, I couldn't because leaving TA's parking lot will require me to go over 5mph which will interrupt my rest break. My company just moved us to the new ELog standard of limmiting us to the 5mph rule so unless i want to break my rest period or break the HOS rule, I have to pay $$ to park.

Not only are the new ELog requirement a pain, drivers will now need to battle for parking spots. Since all Corporations goal is to make a profit, i can see truckstops charging trucks to park in the near future because every parking spots will be in very high demand. The TA in Duncan, SC was a test site for TA to see how much revenue they can generate in parking fees and that is why almost half their huge lot is reserve parking. Keep in mind that I filled-up there, ate dinner at their restaurant and still had to pay for the reserve parking. I could'nt even use my $100 plus points to pay for the parking.

So the newest version on ELog forces me to work less, and make less due to not being able to do inyard moves. The truckstops forces me to pay to park nightly, and my living expenses is raising. I am reaching my breaking point.

You need to learn how to plan better, and how to make the ELD work to your advantage.

Bull , an elogger moves across the street and the paper loggers have a fit.
But the paper loggers never stay parked for longer than 5 hours and stop at every exit to nap and spend 45 minutes a day making it look legal.

The only good thing about ELD is that I dont spend 45+ minutes a day messing with my log anymore.
