Spn 2659 fmi 18 HELP!! Im on the road

    So Im 1500 miles from home and get this code today. From what Ive read it sounds like a plugged egr cooler?

    Couple questions

    Can I drive it home like this to get ot fixed at my usual shop?

    Is there anything I can do myself to fox this?

    And can amybody recommend a good shop in houston,tx? I try to stay away from the dealership.

    Which motor do you have? Usually if a red check engine light comes on it will dearth the motor quickly might be best to check it out

    What do you mean making oil? What color is the oil? Is it grayish? Thick?

    Your egr valve is either stuck or clogged. You will need to replace it soon.

    I took it to the Volvo dealer in Houston and they reflashed the ecm with updated software. However, in March the egr valve, cooler, and manifold needed to be replaced.

    They also said the exaust valves are recessed by .06 and that the head needed replaced.

    Do you have any info on recessed valves? Thanks

    I just replace head on my 2013 Volvo with d13. I did in local shop. Cylinder head I found for $2500.00 with 1 year warranty. There is one Compony in IN state. You can find them on eBay.
    Reason why I change cylinder head cuz my exhaust valve broke and I had no compression in cylinder #5.
    My recommendation before do something you need compression test.
