insist on it, he works for you. Tell him you want to start with HCTZ immediately, it is cheap and you can get it anywhere, with only a side effect - you will use the bathroom more often.

Contrary to some of the misinformation provided to you, YES your physician should put you on a blood pressure medication. Most physicians have their favorite one. You DO need the combo medication. Water pill & medication that will increase the size of your veins. Then start working on reducing your sodium intake.

I currently don't consume any sodium at all unless it's naturally in my food that I buy. I only buy fresh non frozen and not in a can meats and veggies. And the only seasonings I really use is black pepper and red chili powder.sometimes I'll be fancy and throw in a bay leaf or something lmao." But seriously I eat very little sodium and have no idea where else I can cut it out. I am losing a lot of weight and am working on getting my
Blood pressure down naturally. Although I'm leaving Florida to go to school in Missouri at the end of October and just want to make sure I can get my blood pressure under control by then without having to feel concerned with failing the dot physical. I'm currently at 289...6weeks ago I was at 307. I'm aimin for 270 by the time I leave for school. So please I understand the concern for others who are direct messaging me and telling me not to go on meds but right now I see those meds as the only sureproof way to get myself within a safe range for not only my body but also the dot physical. Thank you.

You really need to go see a physician. Let this person be the judge of if you need meds or not. However just a quick education on how sneeky sodium intake can be. Start looking AT EVERY NUTRITION LABEL for every product you buy. A 16.9 oz 500 mL bottle of Coke contains 55g of sodium 3% of the recommended daily intake. Candy bars contain sodium. Just about any product you buy contains sodium. This is why you need to limit the intake (you can't stop the intake of all sodium) then if this limiting can't get the blood pressure down then the doctor has a whole set of meds to start using.
