I can do discussing.
But when it becomes the same tired insults as recently happened from one idiot gamer in another thread, I put him on the ignore list after I wrote a post specifically telling him why his behavior is not acceptable. And that was the end of that.
There is very little that is taboo provided there is a proper phrased discussion about whatever it is. The reason I say that is my family growing up had several taboos and I worked hard to break them so that I wont be dealing with that stuff all my life. And I got it broken.
But when it comes to people being infantile or childishly stupid because they don't like you and resort to stupid insults that are worn out a long time ago they get tossed. Quick before the moderator has to be bothered to come in and toss the whole valuable thread.
That is one reason I value TTR a great deal. There is and has been historically very good discussions now and then when the stars align in the sky sometimes. That is what keeps me coming back.
Now it's not that way all the time. The community also has shown what is possible when someone suddenly becomes unpopular and is deemed a wanna be etc for whatever subject and everything gets derailed completely. And you wonder why you allow TTR to take up a certain part of your day to witness some members be abused by many others.
That is one reason I do what I do with the ignore list. If the people are good and behave well, they stick around even though I might not agree with them now and then. (And vice versa) Otherwise on the list they go. And they can do the same with me. No hard feelings at all. It's a blinking forum. A place and a chance to have a good quality meat and potatoes discussion about the industry and why we are doing what we are fixing to do sometimes with changes coming soon.
Government wants Elogs for everyone. What they did not count on was many smart Truckers buying iron too old to take Elogs and they enjoy freedom.
Just wait until they enforce emissions or god help us follow the Norwegien and UK model of no gas or desiel engines period after a certain year. Electric only.
At this point in time, I don't know of any Electric truck beefy enough hefty enough to do the work well over 1600-2000 miles between charges. The Nickolas would be one candidate. But It will have to pass my heavy test and do equally as well as a big horse detriot or a kitty does today before it will be advocated or accepted. -
Really? IDK, call it what you will, that CB saved me a LOT of money and hassles and quite possibly, my life. It kept me awake many a night. I'm sure it's changed considerable, and I probably wouldn't recognize it, but make no mistake, at one time, it was almost required, and a good CB was almost better than good drive tires, it was that important.Tall Mike, slim shady, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this.

I try to ignore the ones where everyone's advice seems to be "find another company".
I love TTR but one thing about it I don't like is how everyone tends to tell rookies to change companies over every minor issue. The truth is rookies don't even understand the business yet, or made themselves noticed at their current company. Changing the name on the door wil only prolong the learning curve.
Truth is, there's not much of a difference between any of the starter companies. Ride it out, learn the biz-THEN think about changing jobsLepton1, fargonaz and homeskillet Thank this. -
Diesel electric locomotive.
Except the railroads are laying people off in droves trying to save money and streamline their operations.
So how is all this freight going to move?
I delivered an entire truck load of utterly useless garbage to a Halloween store two weeks ago that paid great!!!
People don't mind air quality when it comes time to pretend.
Can you imagine the outcry, the public protests if people could not decorate for Halloween?HotH2o Thanks this. -
Not mine lol.

I ignore the ones where everyone says "Find another thread."
