Company driver or o/o? What are you hauling? I got a buddy that hauls for sandbox here in Colorado. Last time I talked to him if the well went down and they were sitting they weren't getting paid anything. He be in his bunk all night not making a fime. Just gets paid off the loads. Which is 80$ per no matter the miles. I had heard they were working on changing that though so they would get downtime pay.

I haul crude here in Colorado and we get 20$ after the first hr. Some companies 25$ I'm a company driver. I've got some friends who are o/o and whoever they lease on to varies. Some are making 65$ after the first hr others making 80.

As far as logs go, are you on elog or paper. I'm not here to tell you to cheat your logs of course. We run elog. If we are sitting and waiting away from truck we go off duty. It's not going to help you for that day, but will help you through your weekly hours if that makes sense

Not a good way to start out....running hot. Even out here the local Sheriff has been trained in the ways of the DOT. and what he doesn't know about , he can find out from the DPS.

Your best source is other drivers. Find them, 3 or 4. Don't depend on one, he may have drank the company kool aid.

    My 5 cents

Company driver. The outfit I'm looking at now is paying 18$ after 2 hours, terminal is in Odessa, you fuel/park/load at the terminal, showers/laundry at the terminal. Minimum of 127$ pulling a pneumatic. Running paper logs.

I understand your question. The answer I think is it will get better. More & more Companies are bringing it back as the shortage of trucks increases.

I kind of figured deep down something was up when that add is up every wk. I'll stick to running cement for Schlumberger for the time being. Were busy as heck out here in south east ohio and wv. Servicing 13 rigs. I have an interview with the LTL company New Penn when i go home but i think i might pass for the time being. Moneys too good right now
