I will have to look into that. Had the tires trued and spin balanced but did not have good results.

If you have a really good tire shop, and I mean a really good shop who actually cares, then I agree beads inside the tire are the best. The brilliance behind Centramatics is that they are idiot proof and work well.

As with everything else in life, if it ain't broke don't fix it, but they absolutely cured a bad steer tire wear issue I had after 5 different alignment shops couldn't. Just my 2 cents. They worked for me. It's not snake oil like most other things.

I run them on steers and drives along with spin balancing new tires. Tire shake makes me so postal that I don't run lugged drive tires either... steer tires in all positions. One thing you'll notice if you have them on your steers is a low speed steering shake right after you pull away from a stop. As soon as the weights distribute, the shake will go away.

Lol. I run steers on my drives as well. Thought I was the only one. You and another are correct. Spin Ballance them first. Have never tried them on my drives, but ever since I switched to steers on my drive they wear perfectly so not messing with it. Perfect tire wear is a beautiful thing on a 1.5 million mile truck:)

When I need a set of drives, I roll my old steers back and put new steers up front. That way, I always have fresh steers.

Yep. And the amazing thing is they wear like steel when you swap them to the drives. It's one of those things that's hard to describe until you see it first hand. Plus if you drive a screw or bolt through a steer you can patch it rotate it to the drive and put a drive on the steer.

Smooth ride, picked up almost 1 mpg, and it made rotating simple. Lol. Centramatics on my steer where the final piece of the puzzle in my case.

    Centering lugs or centering sleeves.
I have them on my steers also..
The shop that aligned my truck and replaced kingpins put them on. Said they include them in the price and encourage them being installed with every alignment.

I have them on steer and drives, I’m thinking to put on my trailer too.
The only concern Is that I’m not too sure if a moisture or humidity may get inside on really cold days on winter season, that can get the sand stuck on the tube’s ring making the problem worse, there’s another kind of centramatics that uses kind of liquid, but that liquid could get frozen at -30

Put Michelin’s with new rims always on steer axle, if the problem remains, burn your truck

Have had them on my pickups last 20-years and travel trailers past 12.

Current company has them on all three axles. This new 579 Pete is so smooth & quiet it just ain’t a big truck, so to speak.

    Tug Toy Thanks this.
