Yea im use the swr but i cant cal when i do change it to swr and press the button it gose all the way to the right

 

You should still be able to get it working with that meter but it isn't good...

So you put it on calibrate and then switch to swr and it's all the way to the right on both 1 and 40?

If so it sounds you need to check your coax and antenna.

 

Yea i just put on a new antenna will get a new coax an see if thats it thanks

 

You most likely have both, grounding problems as well as a bad match antenna system.

 

Stop xmitting the radio and get to a radio shop and have them check / set the antenna untill you can get to some really good shop who will install a good antenna system with quality merchandise..
