Yes and those big blocks in that last picture appear to be 2.5 ft tall, 2.5 ft wide, and at least 6 feet long. They might not be, its not like I'm there with a tape measure and its a really dark picture.

2.5'x2.5'x6' is only one cubic meter. They are around 18"x30"x6'. Still way under 11,000 pounds and 2 cubic meters so general cargo securement rules apply.

That'd be just over 1 cubic meter.

I wasnt busting your chops on it. I even said i wasnt there to measure them and used the word appear several times. The volume discussion was nothing than to get people to take note and remember to measure.

I was much more focused on proper securement so when an idiot does something stupid, your load is locked down and can't shift.

Your securement should hold regardless of how hard you hit the binders or what you might hit.

First half yes, but impacts can see multiple Gs.

I would say the load only moving 6 inches is the securement holding. Thats with 5 straps being pulled tight enough they cut through the conveyor belt I was using as an edge protector.

More straps would mean less force is applied to each one. Perhaps instead of 5 being cut, none would have and there would of been no load shift.
