Why? More information would help.

Bad Company. Bad. Company. Decent enough group from the 70's/80's, but unheard of in a long time. Are they even still together? What does Bad Company have to do with Pace Freight? Were they the tour wranglers? Maybe they used Pace for shipping albums? Maybe one of the group members is now at Pace? SO many unanswered questions, OP, could you maybe give a little more information on the connection between the two? I know it will be many sleepless nights for me, until I can figure out what's going on here. Just a smidgen of information would maybe help the assembled masses see the connection, and put an end to all the rumors being spread....

Well, I worked for them for a bit, between good jobs.
They slashed our pay right after I started. That didn't sit too well with me, so I developed...quite an attitude. They'd have the linehaul guys running all around the airport while the local guys (who I'd trained with) did one pickup or delivery an hour to milk the clock. Which would be fine, except that the local guys were supposed to be our relief. So not only did we have to drive 450 miles round trip, then we got the honor of driving around the airport making deliveries for three or four hours while the local guys sat on docks enjoying the weather.
Oh, and pay wasn't slashed for everyone. If the terminal staff liked you, you could stay at the old rate. And get long runs to other states that were...I'm not going to use the word 'illegal,' but I'd definitely say...'questionable.' As long as they make it look good on the logs, I guess? I wasn't there long enough to ingratiate myself to the terminal staff, so...pay cut.
Of course, all of this is hearsay. I'd never say such things about a company or its employees; I'm sure any shenanigans the drivers used to pull were put to a stop by the safety-conscious angels in the office.
But I'd also never work there again.Lonesome Thanks this. -
why did you agree to drive for a lower a rate, then blame the company for the attitude that you "developed"?..LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

because as with everything else in todays society - it wasn't his fault.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

Oh my lord. Watch out, couple of BAD MOTHER EFFERS COMIN THROUGH. MAKE WAY FOR THE HARD#####.
They pulled a bait and switch. I was supposed to be on the clock as I did my deliveries, and they changed it JUST as I got hired to a per stop flat payment, effectively cutting my pay by easily $100-$200 per week.
I know a couple of granite DUDES like yourselves are being all Republican and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE...I do. It's not as if this place has a union, so I had no say in the matter. I was gone within a matter of a couple months, once I found a proper job again.
I don't like to hear me ##### anymore than anyone else does. Once I'm done, I quit. But pull a bait and switch on me, and you're also gonna hear about it until I'm gone. Nobody wastes my time like that.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 22, 2017
