Sadly you will never understand the need for some oversight in corporate America, or any other large corporate capitolistic society. On the otherhand, we do not need what we have now... a federal govt and Congress out of control and wanting to socialize everything under the sun. JFC... the Republicans are more liberal socialists than the Democrats... lol ... thank goodness I can say "I never voted for that idiot either". lol Funny... I'll be saying that again in 4 years... sadly... I say it every 4 years.
Walmart was btw... commiting fraud for years claiming to sell "American" goods when they were buying over seas and changing the labels.. or did you forget how they got to where they are?It sure wasn't honest hard work... it was the good old screw em while we can way... lol
Yer still a funny guy Ziggy... be safe.

My comment was towards the insults aimed at a country or its people. Mexicans, Arabs...etc. And the addition that they come here to ride off of us or the gov. To Assume that they do that for that reason is stupid. They come here because they know they can provide for their families. Much of the time, they send most of what they make, back down to their families still in Mexico.
Do I support it? Heck no...I support immigration and quotas and such; and yes I do believe something needs to be done. Lots of people attacking them, few to none are turning their anger towards their elected officials in hopes of getting something done.
...I dont understand what you mean here.
So...someone who can do a job just as well as you can, but cheaper is a moron? You therefore, are smarter because you demand more? I dont know how someone is a moron because they can do things for less. You buy a car, and you pay less, that makes you a moron? What about buying a house? If you had a business and you knew Bob was bidding 1 million for a contract...and being the smarty pants you are, youd bid 2 million to do the same job? Because, why could someone pay Bob one million when they can pay you two?
In my line of work...Schneider negotiates with corporations for shipping rates. I dont know what each bid is made up of, but because of their technologies, their logistics and equipment...coverage...etc, the list goes on; because of that entire thing, they can offer a superior product (aka distribution) for a lower price than others can. By building up as a company to where it is now...SNI is somehow made up of morons because they as a company can do for less what you cant?
The sad part is that while they under bid in many situations, they through their system might very well be able to make more money than the people who were bidding more.
I agree there needs to be oversight...I totally agree on that. However, I dont agree that the government should be getting its fingers into every biz out there. Fannie, Freddie, AIG, the banks. I dont know if you knew this or not...but the banks were FORCED to take the buyouts from the gov. THey couldnt refuse it. And as such, since they had to take the buyouts...the banks now have to do whatever the fed wants them to. Thats not the way it should be. The banks and any other business out there should fail on its own without government intervention. Now the Big 3 automakers want a bailout. We are bailing everyone out now...and Im sure next it will be the airlines.
Oversight...yes there needs to be some...however there are better ways than getting the government involved and getting its hands in the pockets of big biz.
Hey, the American way comes in many forms. But nope, I hadnt heard of that theory before. -
The only one un American around here is _ _ _. No, I'm stopping myself. I just remembered I stopped talking to you mos ago becuase you are just to........Last edited: Nov 7, 2008

I know...and I stopped replying to your things on here as well, because its so full of hate...but you know what...we need someone to combat this continuous stream of BS.
I never said its ok...but answer me this....and I think I will do this from now on, so you cant slide out of discussions...
1. If you want jobs in the US, tell me how to keep them here. Tell me how to keep corporations here when we just elected a president who has promised to increase their already outrageous taxes that they have to pay. How should we expect them to make a profit by creating a product and having to deal with the high costs associated with US labor. Especially when the American consumer is willing to buy a product from another company (be it overseas or not) that is priced cheaper.
2. Tell me how you plan on getting the US consumer to buy only American products...outside of banning everything that is imported. How would you get a consumer to buy an expensive American product over a cheaper made product.
What part of our constitution or any legal code does it label a company moving, treason? or are you just calling it so, because you dont like it.
By who? The American consumer. Why? The desire for cheaper products. You attack other countries. What are THEY doing wrong? lol...all they are doing is capitalizing on the fact that WE want cheaper stuff. You think we wouldnt do the same if we could over here?
dont start attacking other coutnries and cultures for being able to produce a product for less than we can. Thats called competition. IF we could create the same thing for less here, it wouldnt be an issue. But you fail to see that the problem is HUGE when we ship smoething overseas to have it be produced, and SHIP it back here...for less than it would cost to produce it entirely here.
ok so you are against capitalism it sounds like. What do you like...communism, marxism, socialism? What part of all of these "they did not found America" principles do you like? -
lol awww too bad, I replied before you could edit your comments.

I CAN NOT RESPOND TO YOU. THE MODS WILL KICK ME OFF. I have to restrain myself. Restrain myself. Restrain myself.
Baack Thanks this. -
Being an Anarchist Libertarian... none of the above. LOL I know this statement was not directed at me... but I had to get involved.
I do like Schneider btw as a company..... they seem to have quite a few good comments on the forum. Maybe in a year I am hoping to get into their tanker division, if they ever start hiring again... The way this economy is looking... it may be awhile.
Still waiting for my first Obama miracle sighting... the "Annointed One" is choosing his cabinet well... lol.. so much for not being an insider... he's just hired all the big Dem insiders. Yep... here we go... he's gonna get ####canned just like the Dem leadership did to Carter and Clinton... There's gonna be so much pork being smoked in Washington you'll think cows were sacred here. This country just went from the pot into the fire. Hope y'all have a great and safe weekend. Our MC Club has a charity run this weekend raising money for breast cancer awareness... called the TITTS Run... goes to various "gentlemen's clubs" around Phoenix. So... that's where I'll be...
happy, happy

I would have just accepted "you are right and Im wrong, obviously"
Right, but are the Dems planning on implementing this? Not in a million years.
Well I agree, but you can't have it both ways. For example...if everything was built in the US...the prices of goods would go up substantially. As such, our pay would need to go up equally as much. If a waffle maker shot up to 40 bucks, we would need to make more...and then we woudl demand more money...this is a loop that you can't really win in.
I had heard of something about six months ago about off shore stuff, I cant' remember too much about it, but it was pointed out in that news piece about how some companies were using those to avoid taxes and the Feds were looking into that. The taxes for corporations is high...I dont know why we should tax them for doing biz here in the states. There is a big reason why they move out of the country, but nobody seems to want to discuss that.
Thats fine and I dont mind having an intelligent discussion / debate with someone. At least you arent filled with extreme hatred like others on here, lol. I agree that something needs to be changed...but I refuse to point the finger at other countries that jump on an opportunity to make money because the American consumer wants something...aka a cheaper product. In my mind, free market and competition rules. When the gov gets involved like they have been, it can't be a good thing at all and never is. Its entertaining arguing with some people on here who just dont understand the basic concepts of how our country works and should work. When fuel was going up...I was one of a small group of people that wanted it to go up even more. Those that couldnt run a biz efficiently would crash. Those that could run their biz well...not only kept going, but managed to thrive. The large drop in trucks on the road ended up raising the freight rates and those that stuck through it, are now raking in the money. When I listen to the radio and hear Owner Ops talking about their biz...ALL of them that have been able to get through this mess have said that despite everything, its one of the best (if not the best) years they've ever had.
So yeah, in the end, Im for buisnesses working things out on their own, building and failing. We do need some oversight, possibly...but that could lead to other issues.
MC Club huh? whaddya ride? I've put on about 300 miles this year...talk about pathetic! -
Well, several pages back I enjoyed some of the stuff in this particular thread, but no more. So, I'm dumping(unsubscribing) it. You girls have fun with your political and corporate rantings. The sad thing is that both of you have valid points on various issues, but neither of you seems to have considered that once the opinions/views of the other person are so engrained, it's unlikely that anyone is going to change that persons views, and what we're left with is an unnecessary and pointless arguement between two people that may have been friends despite their differences. Enjoy. I'm out. Btw.... if you decide you want to bash on me about my opinion written here, feel free to waste your time, but understand, I won't be here to read it, so I really just don't care.
firstgear Thanks this. -
I agree... this has gotten way beyond the purpose of the thread... though the girls comment was unnecessary. But then, you won't be here to read this...
Back to Schneider... again... I would consider them again possibly at some point to get training in the tanker division. It may be while before they hire newbies again.. though assuming I pass my road test coming up with this company I am going with.. I won't be a newbie for long. After 4 years I am hoping it all comes back quickly.
Is there a political thread somewhere where I can promote overthrow of the govt.? lol
