What's up with the ltl rates lately? I'm consistently seeing 10k-13k loads going for .90 a mile. This seems to be the going rate right now. Who is pulling these??
Flatbed FTL loads are going in the 4.50s out of California.
Hotshot rates are horrible

When a company pays lease operators 82 cents per mile... 90 cents seems like a pay raise
Mudguppy Thanks this. -
Try running cars for brokers then come say .90 a mile is bad.

Ryan.... You are under 26k and thus have a lot less overhead.... 50 cents (x 3 cars?) Seems much more doable.

RJ Lopez Thanks this.

Anj, I am going to tell you something you will not believe. Now when I first heard this it was hard for me to believe. Light loads pay better. FBC said this about 8 years ago on a post he made. And I can say that my best paying loads have been under 1,000 lbs. Now they don't come up everyday but they do come. When people know your work and trust you to get the job done they will call. It does take some time. I call them hooptee loads. Hooptee we are making money on this one. Last time was three weeks ago. I had to go 3 hr to pickup 5 hr to deliver $1500 Hooptee for me.
flatbedcarrier and Anj Thank this. -
Anj, what part of the country are you working out of ?
-
Yes, I do agree with you and fbc on that one. I'm still only seeing 3k-4k loads going for .50 per mile tho. I just assumed fbc was loading 3-4 of those 3k 4k loads as partials.
Maybe I need to get on the DAT board?
Working out of the Southwest and west coast. Cal, as previously mentioned FTL is excellent rates right now for flat/step. Making me consider class 8 and pull step.
