It would be great to have access to the brightness setting from the home menu instead of digging into the settings every time. Better yet to make the screen darker than the lowest setting because opening the home screen feels like looking into the Ark of the Covenant at night.

One thing I liked about the 730 was that it would automatically lower and raise the brightness according to the sunrise and sunset time, a feature lacking in the 740.

    >> I have the 740 and it does have an Auto setting for day/night. But i can't remember off hand where it was. I believe it was under the map settings, look there for it.
If not when Mark gets back he can tell you in 2 seconds where it is.
Works the same way that the 730 did

How about the brightness slider when you swipe down to expose the notifications menu? Much quicker and don't even have to leave the map screen. Maybe that's just for tablets though...

On the map screen/9 dots bottom right/you should see a brightness icon on the bottom - 5th from left.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks @Mark Kling. Since I'd only had it a day, I ended up returning for exchange.

It should be remembering them. I will test tomorrow with ours.

    Thanks,
